The Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles saw four new state champions crowned today following an exciting day of surfing action in playful three-foot surf.

Amelie Lowrie (Shelly Beach) ensured another title would return to the Central Coast, taking out the Under-14 Girls division. Lowrie put on a clinic over the duration of the final, nailing a series of decent backside snaps to notch up a 14.2 two-wave heat total and get the edge over Nina Lawson (Scotts Head), Juniper Harper (Lennox Head) and Niamh Sharpe (Lennox Head) who finished in second, third and fourth respectively.

The Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles ran concurrently with the Beachbreaks Festival, which saw a range of festival activations taking place over the course of Sunday, 28th July.

2019 was the fifth year the Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles and the Woolworths NSW Junior State Titles pres. by Ocean and Earth have been split into two different events, with the amendment designed to cater to the growing demand from younger competitor divisions.

In addition to the surfing, Havaianas will also host beach games daily where participants can win a range of products courtesy of Havaianas.

Staff and surfers working and competing in the 2019 Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles will be participating in the Beach Clean Up on Saturday, 27th July 2019 in a joint new sustainability initiative by Surfing NSW and H2coco. All participants will receive clean-up bags supplied by Surfrider Foundation Australia and there will be a run-through of the site before the Beach Clean Up gets underway. All qualifiers for the Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles were determined by eight individual regional titles, which took place up and down the NSW coastline earlier in the year.

The 2019 Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles were supported by Havaianas, Randwick City Council, Mothernest, H2coco, Volkswagen, Australian Skin Cancer Clinics, Storage King, Beach Burrito Co, Bondi Chai and Surfing NSW.
